ASSET MIX
It is the classification of the assets within a portfolio or a fund. Assets may be assigned to one of the following classes of core assets: real estate, cash, bonds (fixed income), and stocks (equities). There are also other categories that are sometimes taken as asset classes such as limited partnership interests, hedge funds, international investments, and commodities.
Usually, the asset mix is shown as a percentage sets of every class of asset contribution to the portfolio’s total market value. It is a vital determinant of the reward/risk fund profile, which is an important determinant of the performance results in the long term.
