AVOIDABLE COST
It is the expense that will not be spent if that particular operation or activity is not performed by the company. It refers to the costs of variables that can be avoided, unlike some of the fixed costs of production that are unavoidable. While these unavoidable costs are seen as negative costs, they may be needed in order to achieve certain thresholds or goals.
