BALANCED TRADE
A condition wherein an economy runs neither a trade deficit or trade surplus. Under a balanced trade scheme involving two countries, each country consents to buy as many goods as it sell the other country. A country aiming to achieve balance trade may employ barriers or tariffs to trade in order to be sure that the other countries will buy its goods.
