BALLOON MORTGAGE
A kind of short-term mortgage. The balloon mortgages oblige the borrowers to provide regular payments for a particular interval, then pay off the remaining balance on a relatively short span. Some kinds of balloon mortgages may be interest-only for 10 years, with the final "balloon" payment to pay off the balance attained as one huge installment at the end of the term.
