BANK RUN
Situation in which a huge number of bank or other financial institution’s customers suddenly withdraw their deposits simultaneously due to bank’s solvency concerns or they lost confidence to its viability. The possibility of default increases as more individuals pull out their funds. In extreme cases, a bank’s reserves may not be enough to cover withdrawals.
