LIQUIDITY ADJUSTMENT FACILITY
A tool in monetary policy where banks are allowed to borrow money through repurchase agreements, and to respond to liquidity pressures. The government uses the facility to secure basic stability in the financial markets. Also, it helps banks to resolve short-term cash shortages in the event of economic downturn.
