BOND ANTICIPATION NOTE - BAN
Short-term interest-bearing security issued by companies and governments before a bond issue. Such bonds seek to finance short-term future projects, with the expectation the proceeds of a larger bond issue in the future will shoulder the anticipation notes. Usually payable from the proceeds of bonds’ sale, this can be used when the issuer desires to defer a bond issue or combine multiple projects into one bigger issue.
