BUSTED TAKEOVER
Highly leveraged corporate buyout in which the acquiring firm sells some of the target company’s assets to meet the acquisition cost. The company’s assets being acquired may be used as collateral for the funding needed to push through with the deal. Once acquired, some of the target firm’s assets are sold to repay a portion of the funds used in financing the initial buyout.
