CALGARY DOLLAR
In Calgary, Canada they have a currency called Calgary dollar. This currency is the outcome of a big idea to attract buyers to boost local self-sufficiency/bioregionalism, to support a sense of community and to shop locally and to personalize economic transactions. Its purpose is not to put in place of Canadian dollar, but to accompany it instead. Calgary dollar is can be counted as a complementary currency. Its impossible to acquire interest by keeping Calgary dollars, these currency’s main purpose is for spending.
