CARBON TRADE
Trading credits between countries, which is created to lower emissions of carbon dioxide. Countries are allowed to emit higher carbon dioxide to purchase the right to release more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere from nations with lower carbon emissions. Originated with the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, it aims to decrease the overall carbon dioxide to 5% below 1990 levels from 2008 to 2012.
