CENTRAL BANK
Institution responsible for regulating the monetary system for a country or group of nations. These entities have wide range of responsibilities such as overseeing monetary policy to implementing particular goals like currency stability, full employment, and low inflation. In general, central banks issue currency, act as the bank of the government, manage the credit system, regulate commercial banks and exchange reserves, and serve as lender of last resort.
