CHAPTER 15

Chapter in the US Bankruptcy Code which is added to promote a cooperative environment in international insolvencies. Its primary goal is to cultivate cooperation between US courts, foreign courts, and appointed representatives though effective schemes for handling insolvency cases. This is created to make legal proceedings of international bankruptcies more predictable and fair for creditors and debtors. It also attempts to guard the value of the debtor’s assets, and if feasible, rescue the business financially.
