COLLAR AGREEMENT
Agreement in a merger and acquisition deal which guards the buyer from substantial fluctuations in the stock’s price, taking place between the time it starts and it is completed. This is used when mergers are funded using stocks, not cash, which may be subject to significant changes in the stock’s price and influence the deal’s value to the buyer and seller.
