COMMODITY TRADING ADVISOR - CTA
Individual or firm providing advice on buying and selling of futures contracts, options on futures, retail off-exchange forex contracts, and swaps. Acting like a financial advisor, this designation particularly refers to giving advice relative to commodities trading. The National Futures Association (NFA) requires CTA registration.
