CONSOLIDATED OMNIBUS BUDGET RECONCILIATION ACT - COBRA
Federal law providing continuous coverage of group health benefits to employees and their dependents in the event they are no longer eligible to receive the benefits. The events include voluntary or involuntary job loss, job transition, reduction in hours worked, death, divorce, and other related events. The coverage may be extended from 18 months to 36 months after a specific event.
