CONTRACT UNIT
Actual amount of the underlying asset in a futures or derivatives contract. In futures contracts, the contract unit indicates the precise amount and specifications of the asset since these are highly standardized. For an options contract, the contract unit is 100, meaning each contract is equivalent to purchasing or selling 100 shares. Also called trading unit.
