CORRESPONDENCE AUDIT
Tax audits conducted by the Internal Revenue Service via mail. The IRS send the taxpayer a request letter for additional information on a certain item or issue on a given tax return. The procedure will be closed once the taxpayer produces enough evidence to resolve the issue.
