CREDIT RISK
Risk of principal loss or loss of a financial reward due to borrower’s failure to pay off a loan or meet his obligation. It emerges when a borrower seeks to use future cash flows in paying his current debt. Investors are compensated by interest payments from the borrower or issuer of debt. This is closely connected to the potential investment return, specifically on bonds.
