CURRENCY SWAP
Arrangement between two parties which involves exchanging specific amounts of principal and interest in one currency for the same in another at the maturity. Considered a foreign exchange transaction, one party pays a fixed interest rate while the other pays a floating rate. Laws don’t require showing this transaction on a firm’s balance sheet.
