DISTRIBUTION REINVESTMENT
Process in which a distribution from a pooled investment, limited partnership, or real estate investment trust (REIT) is automatically reinvested into shares or common units in a fund. Often offered at a discount to the present market price, investors can put up these plans with the partnership itself or a broker which holds the units. Also called DRIP.
