DIVIDEND DRAG
Downside of the unit trust exchange-traded funds’ dividend scheme, resulting from SEC rules that state passively managed ETFs cannot invest dividends back into the portfolio. Instead, ETFs must generate the dividends in cash and give it to holders periodically. In the event of increasing markets, the dividends is preferred to be reinvested in securities than being held in cash.
