ECONOMIC LIFE
Expected time period in which an asset is useful to the average owner. It could be different than the actual physical life of the asset. Estimating the asset’s economic life is significant for business for them to determine the timing to invest in a new equipment. Also, businesses must plan to have enough funds to purchase replacements for costly equipment once it has exceeded its useful life.
