ELECTRONIC FUNDS TRANSFER ACT
Federal law which gives protection to consumers engaged in transferring funds through electronic methods. The methods include debit cards, automatic withdrawals from a bank account, and automated teller machines. The act also gives a way to correct transaction errors and reduce the liability from any losses due to a stolen or lost card.
