ESTATE FREEZE
Asset management strategy employed by estate owner which aims to transfer assets to his heirs without tax consequence. Most of the time, the owner transfers assets, normally common stock, to a firm in exchange for preferred shares. The firm renders new common stock to the beneficiaries at a nominal value.
