EXCLUSIVE ASSORTMENT
Merchandising strategy in which a retailer shows the product line of a manufacturer. This may be included in an exclusive arrangement between a manufacturer and a reseller. Or the retailer aims to brand itself as the best location for a certain manufacturer’s products. It is less probable because the manufacturer prohibits the retailers from selling its competitors’ products, often viewed illegal as it is an anti-competitive tactic.
