EXPECTED FAMILY CONTRIBUTION - EFC
Amount of money a student’s family is anticipated to contribute to education costs in a given year. It is computed by subtracting the school expense to the expected family contribution. The EFC takes into the account family household income, size of current household, assets, and number of family members enrolled in college at present.
