FAMILY LIMITED PARTNERSHIP - FLP
A partnership designed to consolidate family business or investment accounts. Assets of a family are put together into a single business partnership the shares of which are owned by the family members. FLPs are usually established to minimize an estate tax, as shares in the FLP can be transferred between generations at lower taxation rates.
