GOLDEN SHARE
Share which gives the shareholder the right to veto changes to a firm’s charter. It has special voting rights, allowing its holder to block another holder from possessing more than a ratio of ordinary shares. Ordinary shares are tantamount to other ordinary shares in revenues and voting rights. It also has the capability to halt an acquisition or takeover attempt by another firm.
