GRADED VESTING
Process in which employees accrue a particular percentage of irrevocable rights over employer contributions on the employee’s retirement plan account annually until the individual is 100% vested. With this scheme, an employee will become vested in at least 20% every year until full vesting happens. The initial period varies depending on the employer’s procedure of identifying the contribution amount.
