GROUND RENT ARRANGEMENT
Situation that occurs when an individual owns a building or structure, but not the land underneath the structure. Since that individual does not own the land, he or she has to pay the rent on it. The arrangement is common for hotels, apartments, and office buildings, as well as houses.
