IMPACT FEE
Fee imposed on real estate developers by municipalities or cities for the new infrastructure to be built or increase for developing a new property. The fees are created to offset the impact of further development and residents on the municipality's (or city’s) infrastructure and services including police and fire protection services, water and sewer network, and schools and libraries. It can also be levied against any individual or entity whose actions make an externality within a municipality or city.
