INDEX FUTURES
Futures contract to trade a regularized value of a stock index on maturity at a specified price. Every index may have a different multiple for knowing the price of the contract. It combines characteristics of securities trading according to stock indexes and commodity futures trading. It lets investors speculate on the entire stock market’s performance, short sell an index with a futures contract, or hedge a long position against a decrease in value.
