INDEX-LINKED CERTIFICATE OF DEPOSIT
Certificate of deposit (CD) with a return based on a particular index. These CDs are bought for a fixed price. The total amount of interest earned on the CD at maturity may be either higher or lower, depending on the result of the index. There is no risk of a loss because the CD is FDIC insured. Also known as indexed certificate of deposit (CD).
