INDEX-LINKED BOND
Bond in which income payment on the principal is related to a particular price index, usually Consumer Price Index. It protects investors from changes in the underpinning index. The bond’s cash flows are modified to make sure the bondholder receives a known real return rate. Also known as real return bonds in Canada.
