Investing method that aims to generate profit from an overall hike in price levels. It often entails trades in commodities including oil and gold because its prices increase in the event of inflation. Individuals have to guard themselves against inflation. But inflation trade refers to a speculative manner of trying to gain profit when inflation appears rather than hedging against it.
