INFORMATION RATIO - IR
Ratio of portfolio returns over a benchmark returns to the volatility of these returns. The ratio gauges a portfolio manager’s capability to yield excess returns in relation to a benchmark, but also endeavors to know the investor’s consistency. It will determine if a manager has surpassed the returns by a lot within a few months or a little each month. The higher the IR, the more consistent a manager is; consistency is an ideal quality.
