INTEREST RATE COLLAR
An investment strategy which employs derivatives to hedge an investor’s exposure to interest rate changes. The investor will purchase an interest rate cap and sell an interest rate floor. This way, this safeguards the investor by confining the maximum interest rate at the ceiling but limits the profitability of interest rate decreases.
