ISLAMIC FINANCIAL SERVICES BOARD - IFSB
An international organization that sets guiding principles and global prudential standards in the banking, insurance, and capital market sectors to promote and improve the stability and soundness of the Islamic financial services industry. It consists of the following:
- General assembly including all IFSB members
- Council that acts as the policy making body of IFSB including the senior executive of every full organization member
- Technical committee that gives advices to the council on issues and comprises of up to 15 people handpicked by the council
- Working group that creates guidelines and standards, and reports it to the technical committee
- Secretariat that serves as the permanent administrative body and is spearheaded by an appointed secretary-general
