JURIS DOCTOR - JD
A law degree conferred by a law school after years of full study. Originally designed to replace Bachelor of Laws degree, it represents professional recognition that the holder has a doctorate law degree. Sometimes, this degree is a prerequisite for other financial programs and designations. The term was first used in 1969.
