KATIE COURIC CLAUSE

Named after Katie Couric, a highly-paid television host, it is a proposed provision of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that would require public companies to disclose the salaries of not only its top executives, but also the compensation paid to top earning non-executives, actors, directors, and newscasters.

Katie Couric, former Today Show host, became CBS’s highest paid TV anchor in April 2006, with a salary of $15 million salary over five years.

SEC has not implemented the rules as of July 26, 2006 but agreed they need to monitor the compensation of top non-executives.
