Currency abbreviation for Kyrgyzstan (also called Kyrgyz Republic). A fraction of a som is a tiyin, the functional equivalent of a US cent. The paper notes come with several color and with denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1,000 som. It also shows well-known and important personalities in their history.
