LAME DUCK
An ineffective investor who makes series of poor trades because of ineptitude, which results to neglecting his or her debts or declaring bankruptcy due to losing big time in the stock market. This is a slightly belittling term that is most common in Europe.
It also refers to a politician who chose not to seek re-election, is ineligible to administer an office again, or has lost in an election but still holding the position until the newly-elected official takes over.
