LIFE CAP
The total amount the adjustable mortgage interest rate and periodic payment can fluctuate over the term of the loan. It is specified as an absolute interest rate, such as the maximum lifetime rate of 12% that is called interest rate ceiling, or maximum percentage change in the interest rate from the initial mortgage interest rate. It is also applicable to the decrease in interest rate when expressed as a maximum percentage from the earliest interest rate.
