LIMITED CONVERTIBILITY
The situation in which the government prohibits its residents to freely convert domestic currencies into foreign ones. Foreigners are permitted to trade the currency because the government can only regulate currency transactions within its borders. This aims to cultivate foreign direct investment (home currency) while deterring capital flight by its residents.
