LONG-TERM CAPITAL GAIN OR LOSS
A gain or loss from an eligible investment that is held for more a year and then sold. The worth of an asset sale, counted to a capital gain or loss, is the difference between the sale value and the buy value. In the United States, long-term capital gains are usually taxed at a lower rate than short-term capital gains.
