MAINTENANCE EXPENSES
The costs incurred in order to keep machinery and equipment in good condition and/or good working order. In purchasing an item, consumers should not only consider the initial price tag, but also its on-going maintenance expenses. These do not include support services or value-added services. Maintenance expenses make homeownership more expensive than renting for instance. Sometimes, even merely leased items such as a leased car, will require the owner to pay maintenance expenses.
