MAKE TO ORDER - MTO
A business production strategy where companies typically allow consumers to purchase products based on their specifications. This strategy will only manufacture the end product upon receiving the customer’s order. This creates additional waiting time for the consumer in receiving the product but allows more flexible customization, rather than purchasing from retailers’ shelves. It also relieves manufacturers’ problems on excessive inventory.
