MAKE TO ASSEMBLE - MTA
A manufacturing production strategy whereby the company stocks or obtains all the basic components of its products based on demand forecasts, but does not assemble those until a customer places an order for that. Then, the manufacturer put together the stored parts into the finished product ordered by the customer. Basically, MTA is a hybrid of two other major types of manufacturing production strategies - Make to Stock (MTS) and Make to Order (MTO).
