This program, part of the Obama Administration’s comprehensive plan to stabilize the US economy, is aid around seven to nine million eligible homeowners get mortgage relief and avoid foreclosure. This is done by reducing the monthly mortgage payments to a more manageable level. This may be accomplished by refinancing or modifying the existing mortgage.
