MAPLE BOND
A bond sold by foreign financial institutions and companies in Canada. Denominated in Canadian dollars, it offers domestic investors the opportunity to invest in foreign countries without having to worry about the effects of currency exchange fluctuations. Foreign companies may use maple bond issues to raise Canadian dollars to set up operations or raise capital in the country. Individuals can invest in foreign markets using maple bond.
